Terms and conditions

General terms and conditions for purchases in the e-shop https://prebena.sk/en/, effective from 1 November 2026. This English version is provided for information; in case of any discrepancy, the Slovak version prevails.

2. Definitions and scope

These terms govern the rights and obligations of the seller and the buyer when goods are sold through the seller's e-shop.

A consumer is a natural person who, when concluding and performing the contract, does not act within their business or profession. Consumer relations are governed in particular by the Slovak Civil Code and Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on Consumer Protection.
A business buyer purchases within their business activity (usually providing a company ID). Business relations are governed by the Slovak Commercial Code; provisions intended for consumers only (in particular withdrawal without giving a reason) do not apply to business buyers.

3. Order and conclusion of the contract

The buyer adds goods to the cart, fills in contact, billing and delivery details and selects delivery and payment. All details can be checked and corrected before the order is placed with the button “Place order with obligation to pay”.
The seller confirms receipt of the order by e-mail without undue delay. The purchase contract is concluded when this confirmation is delivered to the buyer. The confirmation contains a summary of the order and a link to these terms.
If the goods are not in stock, the seller checks availability and the delivery date and informs the buyer without undue delay. If the goods cannot be supplied, the seller informs the buyer, cancels the order or the affected part of it and refunds any payment within 14 days at the latest.
The seller may decline or cancel an order in case of an obvious error in the price or product description (e.g. a technical error) and will inform the buyer and refund any payment without undue delay.
For larger quantities (e.g. full pallets of fasteners) the buyer can ask for an individual offer using “Request a quote”. Sending a request is not an order and creates no obligation to pay.
The contract can be concluded in Slovak or English. The seller archives concluded contracts electronically; the buyer has the order confirmation and the order page.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in euro including VAT. The price shown when the order is placed applies.
Quantity discounts (for selected fasteners) are applied automatically in the cart according to the number of packs ordered.
Bank transfer – payment in advance to account SK05 7500 0000 0040 2144 2252 (ČSOB, a.s., SWIFT CEKOSKBX); the variable symbol is the order number, due within 7 days. Payment details and a PAY by square QR code are included in the order confirmation. Goods are shipped or prepared for pickup after the payment is credited.
Cash on delivery – payment to the carrier on delivery; COD fee 1,00 €.
Cash – when collecting the order at our store in Banská Bystrica.
The seller issues a tax invoice and delivers it with the goods or electronically.

5. Delivery

Personal pickup – free of charge at Zvolenská cesta 14437/191, 974 05 Banská Bystrica, Mon – Fri 8:00 – 15:00. We will let you know by e-mail when your order is ready.
Courier – parcels up to 30 kg, price 4,87 €.
Pallet delivery – shipments over 30 kg, price 39,86 €. The cart offers the delivery method automatically according to the weight of the order.
Goods in stock in Banská Bystrica ordered on a working day by 12:00 are dispatched the same day and the courier usually delivers them on the next working day. For goods in the central warehouse or on order we will confirm the delivery date. Unless agreed otherwise, the seller delivers within 30 days of the conclusion of the contract.
Please check the packaging on delivery. Record visible damage with the carrier and let us know as soon as possible.
The risk of damage passes to the buyer on receipt of the goods. Ownership passes upon full payment of the purchase price.

6. Withdrawal from the contract without giving a reason (consumers)

A consumer may withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of the day on which they (or a person designated by them other than the carrier) receive the goods. If goods ordered in one order are delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last item.
Withdraw online: the function Withdraw from contract here is available on our website throughout the withdrawal period (also in the footer of every page and on your order page). Enter your name, order number and e-mail, check the details and confirm with the button “Confirm withdrawal from the contract”. We will immediately send you a confirmation of receipt with the date and time by e-mail.
You may also withdraw by any other clear statement – by e-mail to prebena@prebena.sk or by letter to the seller's address. You may use the model form below, but it is not obligatory.
The deadline is met if you send the withdrawal notice before the period expires.
Return the goods within 14 days of withdrawal to Zvolenská cesta 14437/191, 974 05 Banská Bystrica (or bring them to the store). The consumer bears the direct cost of returning the goods. For goods that cannot be returned by normal post because of their weight or size (pallet shipments), the estimated return cost is approximately 39,86 €.
The seller refunds all payments including delivery costs (up to the cheapest delivery method offered) within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal notice, using the same means of payment unless agreed otherwise. The seller may withhold the refund until the goods are received back or the consumer proves they have been sent. The price of services bought with the goods is refunded as well.
The consumer is liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning (e.g. a tool used on the job, fasteners from an opened and partly used pack).
Business buyers are not entitled to withdraw without giving a reason.

7. Liability for defects and complaints

The seller is liable for defects under the Slovak Civil Code (consumers) or the Commercial Code (business buyers). The complaint procedure, deadlines and tool service are described on the page Complaints and service, which forms part of these terms. You can file a complaint by e-mail to reklamacie@strojeslovensko.sk or in person at the store.

8. Dispute resolution

If you are not satisfied with how we handled your complaint or believe that we have violated your rights, please ask us for redress at prebena@prebena.sk. If we reject the request or do not reply within 30 days of its sending, a consumer may file a proposal for alternative dispute resolution with the Slovak Trade Inspection (www.soi.sk) or another authorised body listed by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (www.mhsr.sk). This does not affect the right to go to court.

10. Final provisions

Matters not covered by these terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic.
The seller may amend these terms; the version in force when the order was placed applies to the order.
These terms are effective from 1 November 2026.
